VIDEO of the webinair: Introduction to the EU integrated approach to conflicts and crisis

WEBINAR
INTRODUCTION TO THE EU INTEGRATED APPROACH TO CONFLICTS AND CRISIS

Thursday May 6th 2021, 10.00 a.m.

This webinar is an open lesson of the Master in Cooperation and development.

In a rapidly changing world marked by many sources of instability and insecurity, the European Union has the ambition to be a global peace and security actor with the aim to promote peace, its values and the well-being of its peoples and the responsibility to preserve peace, prevent conflicts and strengthen international security.

Delivering on this ambition has been a key driver behind the EU Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy (EUGS) adopted in 2016. The EUGS introduced the EU’s integrated approach to external conflicts and crises that aims at fostering human security by drawing on all relevant EU tools and policy instruments (i.e. diplomacy-development-security-defence) in a timely and sequenced manner.

This webinar, held by Edoardo Manfredini, aims at describing the elements of EU integrated approach and showing them applied in a case study on EU’s support to Central African Republic.
